Avocado toast is so popular today in many restaurants.
But there is no chef required to make this utterly nutritious dish at home and it takes literally minutes.
A minimum of just two ingredients to whip something that will keep you full for a few hours or dubs as a fantastic side dish for soups, stews and salads.
Of course, you can get fancy and add whatever topping you can imagine as the avocado is delicious on its own but also is canvas for other toppings like tomato and thinly sliced red onion or add some roasted chick peas ( aka garbanzo beans) with a few red pepper flakes.

Whole grain bread or sourdough, good quality, thickly sliced if possible
1 avocado, flesh scooped out with a spoon, discard seed.
salt and pepper to taste
splash of lime
Toast your bread.
In a small bowl, mash your avocado with a fork into a thicker consistency. Add the splash of lime juice.
Top your toast with equal parts of the avocado and spread evenly.
Salt and pepper to taste.
* Hass avocados are best ( no need for organic here ). Make sure avocado is ripe so that color should be darker and slightly softer when indented.
