Quick Exercise Interval Cycles

We are all busy! Whether it’s work or family or both or any other obligations it’s hard to find the time to exercise. I get it-add fatigue from our over scheduled lives into the mix and exercise sounds like the last thing we want to do.

But if you can find 15 minutes to exercise I promise you’ll feel better! It’s amazing what those endorphins will do for your mind and body. Of course, before starting any exercise regimen you’ll want to check with your physician to make sure you are ready to begin.

So you may know by now that I love to run! I’m the crazy running gal who runs just about every day. Call me nuts but it’s my mental break- I feel calmer and more energized after I run. I love to add these interval cycles after I run several times per week, but they are great on their own too! You can modify these to suit your fitness level and add more interval cycles if you’re feeling really ambitious!

Basically it’s 40-30-20-10 Take a quick break and do 2-3 times. Shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes.

  1. 40 jumping jacks (modify if needed)
  2. 30 straight leg sit-ups (can alter with planks if you want to). If you have a question about these let me know.
  3. 20 squats (make sure you keep good form-can add weights if you want)
  4. 10 push-ups (alter these if you need to as well)

Why are these interval cycles great? They are fast. They get your major muscle groups working. Interval training is a great way to get (or stay) in shape. Always remember to stretch:)

If you try these, let me know what you think!
